Trump lied people died has been trending on Twitter as a hashtag.

#TrumpLiedPeopleDied is sadly one of those Trump Twitter hashtags that is sticking and sticking for good reason. Some of the other ones have included #TrumpSlump and #TrumpRecession, often trending along with links to hideous bold-face lies he has made on camera and the parroting of those lies in “news” outlets such as Fox “News.”

According to legit, non-‘alternative facts,’ news reports, including one investigative piece in the Washington Post, by February countless people within intelligence and the administration were urging Trump to take the threat very seriously, but Trump refused to change his government’s inaction, privately and publicly, even going so far as to complain that the CDC was just frightening investors, and generally that people speaking up should just shut up. That he didn’t believe it and/or didn’t want to hear it.

U.S. intelligence agencies were issuing ominous, classified warnings in January and February about the global danger posed by the coronavirus while President Trump and lawmakers played down the threat and failed to take action that might have slowed the spread of the pathogen, according to U.S. officials familiar with spy agency reporting. The reports and warnings painted an early picture of a virus that showed the characteristics of a globe-encircling pandemic that could require governments to take swift actions to contain it…

But despite that constant flow of reporting, Trump continued publicly and privately to play down the threat the virus posed to Americans…
